Marketing

Short term targets

    * Promote in selected companies the project management profession and PMI’s offering and cogresses
    * Motivate and create equal possibilities to education providers to deliver workshops and subject presentations on non-commercial basis
    * Promoting cost sharing between companies on bringing renowned speakers to Finland

Long term targets

    * Promote project management profession and PMI’s offering in companies and organizations
    * To participate and give presentations and opinions in public events and media

External Relations

Short term targets

    * Attract and motivate sponsorships (media, industry, REPs)
    * Make web site representative media for external communication
    * To promote International Project Management day and Projektipäivät

Long term targets

    * High level relations to PMIProject management ISO standards development
    * Develop and coordinate activities with PMAF and IPMA
    * Introduce project management to children in schools
    * To monitor opinions and initiatives within Chapter membership and forward them to PMI

Events

Short term target

    * Determine feasible event intensity per calendar year
    * Formalize planning of event related income and costs
    * Member satisfaction to increased event activity and quality

Long term targets

    * Coordinate planning and scheduling of events
    * Keep track of assigned event responsibilities
    * Help event organizers in practicalities and communications

 
Activities and initiatives outside metropolitan area

    * Promote Project Management Profession
    * Arranging some events, speakers and happenings also outside Helsinki, so members would not need to travel always to Helsinki for it
    * Sharing experiences and knowledge, improving professional skills
    * Networking possibilities
    * Arranging PDU gaining possibilities also in Vaasa and elsewhere to renew PMP certificate

Vaasa Region

    * 26 PMI Members currently in Vaasa Region, mostly from Wärtsilä
    * Meeting with all members scheduled to discuss interests and plan forward
    * Cooperation with Vaasa PM Club (lead by Vaasa University) and with Vaasa region international companies (Wärtsilä- ABB- Vacon- Citec etc)

Membership

Short term targets

    * Maintain a membership/PMP register:
    * Find growth rate over past years
    * Find value added for members

Long term targets

    * Means and support to gain new members (e.g. presentations)
    * Set a target growth rate
    * Involve more members actively in the PMI Finland operations (volunteer work)

Internal communication

Short term targets

    * Establish communications guidelines (e.g. email, newsletter) à comms standard

Long term targets

    * Support others in their communications efforts (e.g. newsletter, web-pages, breakfast roundtable)

Certification & PDU

Short term targets

    * Collect available information on certification and PDU among PMI Finland members and PMI
    * Publish information about certification (e.g. newsletter, web-pages)
    * FAQ
    * sample questions

Long term targets

    * Provide learning aids for the exams (CAPM, PMP, PgMP)
    * “Who else is studying for the exam right now?”

PDU's

    * Provide information how to claim and collect PDUs
    * Arrange practicalities for collecting PDUs for events

Knowledge and publications

Make the PMI Finland Chapter a place that is referred to by PM practitioners by providing articles (not necessarily original) about all aspects of project management and promote interactive discussion about PM.

Competence development

The Competence Committee defines the Competence development as follows:

PMI Chapter Finland is an active member in the PM competence development field by creating offering, which is not provided by the mainstream training providers and is supporting the development of high-end project management professionals in PMI Finland community.

PMI Chapter Finland also provides competence development for company managers that creates platform for higher appreciation of project management profession

Online services and IT

    * Ensure high quality online services to PMI Finland members and interested readers
