PMI Finland Chapter has arranged Study Groups in 2010, 2011 and 2012 for the chapter members who have targetted to be PMPs and CAPMs. The purpose of these Study Groups is not to give any formal edeucation but to help the participants gain a fresh insight in the subject.

Each study group comprises of 11 sessions of 2 hours each. One session has been held every week and all the sessions are completed in consecutive weeks. That means the whole study group goes for 11 weeks.

Sessions are held around 9 Knowledge Areas of PMBOK + PM Framework + PM Ethics. Each session is facilitated by a volunteer who makes a presentation on the knowledge area followed by Q&As.

If facilitators are PMPs then they have had an opportunity to earn PDUs for the preperation and presentation time using the formula 1 Hour = 1 PDU.

These sessions are free of charge for the members and they get an opportunity to go thru all the knowledge areas.

The sessions have been held in Helsinki Capital Region and compnies like Nokia, NSN, Wärtsilä, IBM have offered their facilities to hold these sessions.  

We in PMI Finland Chapter Board have the target to organise these study groups in future as well, atleast once a year.
